Adite Banerjie, best-selling romance author and script writer, seems to have written her newest short story in minutes – one moment she was talking about writing something new, and the next it was published. Here’s what she has to say about that:

Make the World Go Away: Short story – Mind Games

Posted on February 27, 2021June 9, 2025 by Reet Singh

This short story is the first one I published (some years ago) and it has very recently acquired a brand new cover. It is also free to read on ‘almost’ all vendors so do take a look at the vendor of your choice. Here’s the new look:

#WritingTips – He said, she said: Revisiting #DialogueTags

Posted on February 26, 2021February 22, 2021 by Reet Singh

I’m revisiting Dialogue Tags. What are they?

If my book characters say something, how will readers know who spoke?
How will they know who said what when they can’t physically see or hear the characters?

Through dialogue tags, that’s how. Dialogue tags are phrases or sentences that tie or tag a character to a particular dialogue.

Consider this conversation (Example A):
‘What on earth are you doing?’
‘How is it any of your bloody business what I do?’
‘It is my bloody business because this is my bloody house!’

Calloused Hands & Open Hearts

Posted on January 24, 2021 by Reet Singh

My second poem in the New Year is an ode to Farmers:

Look
For truth
In rheumy eyes
That have stared down
Relentless seasons, reluctant earth
