“Red, blue & Pink”: 3 Short stories – Suspense, Intrigue, & Romance by Reet Singh

Posted on June 16, 2021June 9, 2025 by Reet Singh

I was inspired by the LGBTQIA+ Pride month to release a book of short stories that had some of the colors of the rainbow on its cover and a sweet lesbian/gay romance in one of the stories.

The stories are inspired by random words and phrases floating around in the stratosphere. There’s something for everyone – Red has a bit of dark suspense; Blue is a story with an element of romantic intrigue; while Pink is a soft, sweet suspenseful romance.

@upreetdhaliwal’s experiments with Mandala making #lefthand #rightbrain #dementia

Posted on June 10, 2021May 8, 2024 by Upreet Dhaliwal

Members of our family have lived to over a hundred years, which is great news, right? I mean, longevity is a boon that healthful practices and evidence-based medicine have made possible; however, the flip side of it is that we now also have more loved ones living with dementia.
Dementia is NOT kind – not to the person whose memory is failing (among other things), and absolutely not to the caregiver who is witness to the devastating transformation. The pandemic and the many lockdowns resulting from it have prompted a lot of discussion around mental health – it pushed me to look at ways of staying physically and mentally fit in the face of all of the awful news of struggles and loss.

Conversation: a Haiku

Posted on May 17, 2021May 8, 2024 by Upreet Dhaliwal

We keep hearing of how important it is to pay attention to body language, to make eye contact, to use and observe non-verbal clues for effective communication. We’re told how it is not just the words that we use but all the other signs our bodies display that make a conversation meaningful.

This is especially true for love…the words ‘I Love You’ are empty and meaningless if there are no actions to supplement the words, or if the follow through is antithetical to the concept of love.

Here’s a Haiku that, I hope, conveys what I’m trying to say in a better way…

Green Haiku

Posted on May 2, 2021May 8, 2024 by Upreet Dhaliwal

This beautiful yellow-footed pigeon – or Hariyal – was photographed early one morning by my brother-in-law, and it inspired a haiku…as well as several hashtags…

Entangled

Posted on May 1, 2021July 23, 2024 by Reet Singh

Ever been tempted? Ever been unable to resist something – or someone – even when you know it absolutely won’t end well for you?

No? Yes?
Well, this poem is about that…

Rainy day Haiku

Posted on April 22, 2021May 8, 2024 by Upreet Dhaliwal

How do I keep my mental health from crashing to the floor in the second year of the pandemic?
I look to my sister’s dog for comfort…He understands the ways of the universe better than I do.
Here’s a haiku celebrating Coco, the Cool Cocker Spaniel…

With gratitude for the #Reviews that InVerse Medicine has received

Posted on April 20, 2021May 8, 2024 by Upreet Dhaliwal

There is nothing more heartening for a writer than readers who take the trouble to write reivews.

“You can kill a book quicker by your silence than by a bad review.” ― EA Bucchianeri

Love, love, love the kind messages people have left on Goodreads – do read them for yourselves…
