Author: Reet Singh

Reet is a surgeon with a romantic soul. When not doctoring, she devours romantic fiction, wields a creative crochet hook, or solves the daily crossword. Occasionally, she can be found in the kitchen concocting her 'world-famous' one-pot meals. Married for three decades, her tall, handsome, sensitive hero-husband still makes her heart skip a beat. It's no wonder she writes about love and happy endings.

@AuthorReet’s Blueprint for a Beguiling #Blurb: or, how to grab #readers’ eyeballs

Posted on May 20, 2022May 20, 2022 by Reet Singh

When I’m book hunting and I find an intriguing title, I’ll definitely look at the cover.
Irresistible? All right, so then I’ll read the blurb.
The few words written on the back of the book will either convince me to buy/borrow it, or will compel me to return it to the shelf.
That’s how important a blurb is.
It has the onerous responsibility – now that the title and the cover have played their roles – to get the reader to clutch the book to her chest, totter off to the nearest couch, and start reading.

Introducing J. Arlene Culiner and her newest story. Blake’s is a historical romance and sounds utterly delightful. There’s an excerpt for you to sink your teeth into, and if that doesn’t induce you to buy the book, nothing will!

‘A Christmas Conspiracy’: #Shortstory #POC #HolidayRomance #MFRWhooks

Posted on April 27, 2022April 27, 2022 by Reet Singh

We need cheering up some days more than others, don’t we?
Even if some of us have a sunny disposition, no matter what the weather, a holiday romance can only make things better.
Here’s a romantic comedy based in Toronto that features a beleaguered young man, a strong, independent young woman, and a mother who has no qualms about making mischief!
Oh! And there’s a cat…

#FREE #ShortStory – Smoke & Shadows – Romantic Intrigue by @AuthorReet

Posted on April 24, 2022April 25, 2022 by Reet Singh

This FREE short story is inspired by a need to revisit a time when it was more than all right to sit in coffee shops without a mask on, and to meet with relatives and friends as though a deadly virus did not lurk in the shadows.

I had fun writing this from a male perspective and also enjoyed the challenge of exploring love, loss, acceptance, and intrigue in just a few words.

#Excerpt – When the main characters of a #romance novel meet for the first time, sparks fly

Posted on March 21, 2022 by Reet Singh

Hey folks, when two people meet for the first time, it can be many things – fun, tedious, pleasant, awful, fascinating, boring – and it can be the start of a lifelong friendship or a century of feuding. It can also be love at first sight or hate at first glance, depending on how dramatic the set-up is [or how dramatic you are].

This post is a chance for you to learn of the chaos and commotion that attended the first meeting between Mohini and Aalok of my #Indie romance, ‘No Escape from Love.’

Blue and Yellow: a #poem

Posted on March 11, 2022 by Reet Singh

However much I want to believe in the power of good and however much I want to have faith and hold on to hope, I see new evidence everyday of much that is wrong with the world. Sometimes all one can do is to grieve and to pray that good prevails over evil…

A new #cover and an excerpt from @AuthorReet’s #Romance – Take One Fake Fiance

Posted on January 21, 2022 by Reet Singh

To cheer myself up – yes, we contracted COVID but are in the recovery phase thankfully – I decided that my first ever romance novel needed a face lift and I am more than delighted to introduce Mita and Tanay in their new avatars.
I am also sharing a scene from their love story which starts in Mauritius, but then they go to India where a lot of the dramatic action takes place.
