Spotlight: “A Room in Blake’s Folly” by @JArleneCuliner

Posted on May 17, 2022July 23, 2024 by Reet Singh

Introducing J. Arlene Culiner and her newest story. Blake’s is a historical romance and sounds utterly delightful. There’s an excerpt for you to sink your teeth into, and if that doesn’t induce you to buy the book, nothing will!

Walled in, Left out – a Poem

Posted on May 2, 2022May 8, 2024 by Upreet Dhaliwal

There is a cost to every decision we make – there is gain, but also loss. How we find balance depends on factors that are different for all of us…

‘A Christmas Conspiracy’: #Shortstory #POC #HolidayRomance #MFRWhooks

Posted on April 27, 2022June 9, 2025 by Reet Singh

Even if some of us have a sunny disposition, no matter what the weather, a holiday romance can only make things better.
Here’s a romantic comedy based in Toronto that features a beleaguered young man, a strong, independent young woman, and a mother who has no qualms about making mischief!
Oh! And there’s a cat…

The trick is that the poem should read the same vertically down the page and horizontally across the page. Obviously then, and also to make it a true ‘square’, the number of words per line must equal the number of lines. This form is attributed to Lewis Carroll…

War: a #poem

Posted on March 20, 2022May 8, 2024 by Upreet Dhaliwal

Is it greed; insecurity; a hunger for power; hatred for humankind and for every living being? How is war ever an answer to anything? How can war answer the questions of food security, and health, and happiness, and shelter for all the creatures on this planet?

Blue and Yellow: a #poem

Posted on March 11, 2022July 23, 2024 by Reet Singh

A winter that will end

Posted on February 7, 2022May 8, 2024 by Upreet Dhaliwal

Sometimes, winter is more than just a time of year. Sometimes, it is a desolation that grows out of hurt and harm.
Here’s a poem that says it better than prose can…
