Entangled

Ever been tempted? Ever been unable to resist something – or someone – even when you know it absolutely won’t end well for you?

That look in your eyes…
You’re cooking up lies
to entangle, entice
& I should think twice
for I know it’s a sham
but fool that I am
I’m drawn to the light
of promised delight
& the decadence, the guile
of your come-hither smile…
unsubtle ploys that ensure I accept
your fleeting, sybaritic gift…
